Pierced Ears!

A couple of months ago Claire started talking a lot about getting her ears pierced. I finally told her that if she wanted to do it, and she was ready to take care of them, that we could do it. Sure enough, she was really excited about it so we made a plan to go the next week. Over the course of the week we had conversations like this:
Molly: You know getting your ears pierced hurts really bad, it's like getting shots in your ears.
Claire: I'm good at shots. I like shots!
Needless to say, Molly doesn't have her ears pierced yet, and doesn't plan on it until she's "brave at shots." We'll see when that happens. Anyway, we went to Claire's Boutique and Claire was a real champ. No tears, and she was really excited to get to hold the stuffed bear. The only issue we've had so far is when we were at my parent's cabin one earring fell out, never to be found. We drove around Heber for the afternoon trying to find a small earring until we could get home (we even tried the local tattoo parlor with no luck) and finally we found a little pair of hoops. Unfortunately, by the time we got it her ear had already closed. So back we went to Claire's and they had to re-pierce it. The bummer was that she got them pierced with some pretty pricey little flowers and I didn't want to pay for those earrings again. But Claire really wanted to keep the one flower, so I bought a single gold ball and now she has the flower in one ear and a gold ball in the other. They're both so small so it's not too obvious, plus I think it really fits her personality!
