Prayer Over the Food

The preschool Molly attends is run by a Presbyterian Church, so occasionally there are some religious oddities. This video is the prayer they say over their snack each day, for those of you that haven't already heard Molly sing it (it's pretty funny so I like to have her perform it when I can).

California

Last week we took our annual family vacation to San Diego. Three out of the four days we spent on the beach, although it was pretty chilly and overcast. I finally broke down and we took the kids to Sea World one of the days. I am actually not a Sea World fan, but what kind of mother would I be if I didn't set my ethical beliefs aside for my children's entertainment?

The hotel was less-than-spectacular, but I suppose that's the chance you take with Priceline. The kids really wanted to sleep in this small space next to their bed, but unfortunately they have a mean mom who wouldn't let them.

This was the first time the kids have shared a bed, and Claire's first time not in a Pack-N-Play, and they did awesome! Each night took about 15 minutes for Claire to unwind (harassing Molly, trying to steal her Froggy, laying on her, playing with anything she could find on the nightstand) but once she did she did fine.

We spent one beach day at Coronado, which we love. Chris put his pride aside and consented to renting the Family Bike. Molly was so excited about it, then about 20 minutes into our hour rental both kids were whining that they were done. We made them keep riding for about 40 minutes until we felt like we got our money's worth (mostly).

Claire was freezing, so she spent most of her beach time wrapped in a towel on someone's lap, with some occasional time playing in the sand.

36 weeks and counting!

Molly adored the beach, no matter how cold it was.

The Sea World highlight was the Sesame Street Bay of Play. They had some pretty cute rides and an Elmo 3-d movie.
