Sitting Up

Claire is finally a good enough sitter for me to get a picture of her. When I tried to take a picture a few weeks ago I could only get her feet because she'd be toppling over quicker than I could snap the picture.

More Portraits

What kids don't need a random photo shoot in September? Sarah was taking her kids in to get pictures done for her birth announcements so I thought I'd go along for the ride. Of course there were pictures I couldn't say no to.

Phoenix Children's Museum

Today we went to the Phoenix Children's Museum with my friend Emily and her son Eli. It's a pretty awesome place and Molly had a great time.

There wasn't a lot for Claire to do but kick it in the stroller. She was an angel, as usual.

Funny Claire

Claire is trying really hard to scoot, but so far she can only manage to go backwards. She especially likes to scoot under dangerous objects, like this recliner.

Ruby craves attention, except from Claire. Every time Claire would grab for her, Ruby would move that limb out of the way. Funny that Ruby wouldn't just get up and walk away, but I think she's much too lazy for that.

Miscellaneous Pictures

Nothing too eventful has been going on around here, but here are some pictures of random things we've been up to.

Whenever we go to the mall with my mom no trip is complete without a visit to See's. For anyone that doesn't know her very well, my mom knows exactly where every See's location is in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Whenever we go I usually share my sample with Molly, or if the salesperson gives Molly her own I'll eat both. But this trip I let Molly have her very own chocolate. She may have been a little confused at first by the entire chocolate in her hand because she just held it and stared at it a while, like she couldn't believe it was really hers, but after a minute or two she started to devour it.

Nothing makes Molly happier in the morning than when I come in to get her with Claire in tow.

Chris, Molly, and I played a rousing game of hide-and-seek the other day, so I decided to hide under this table. When Molly found me she thought it was hilarious, so she would only hide under the table after that. Sometimes she wanted us to hide with her too. When one of us was looking for her we would say "Where's Woggy? I can't find her!" or something along those lines, and she would always answer "I'm right here!" I don't think she fully understands the fine art of playing hide-and-seek yet.

The Final Days

It's hard to believe they're already gone, but my sister Jessie and her family moved to Pennsylvania last week. We spent a lot of time together (more time than usual, which is pretty hard to do) the week before they left to get some final bonding time in. I think the kids could sense their beloved Amelia and Colin were leaving soon because they seemed to be more affectionate with eachother than usual...

Southwest Ambulance

Chris is just finishing up his third week of training to be an EMT with Southwest Ambulance. I think he likes it okay so far, but definitely not enough to get comfortable there; he's still pursuing the fire department. He doesn't have too many crazy stories yet, but I'm sure they'll come. At least Molly enjoys his work boots!

Poop Disaster

Warning: This post is not for those with a weak stomach.

Isn't this what a baby is supposed to be doing when they're in their crib? Sleeping like an angel? Apparently not today.

We found out today that Claire knows how to get her disposable diapers off. When she woke up from her nap this is what we found:

Completely dry diaper, no longer on Claire's body.

Her crib, covered in poop.

And Claire, with an alarming amount of poop on her hands and surrounding her mouth. Not to mention all over the rest of her body. Doesn't she look proud of herself?

She obviously went into the bath right away. I much prefer this clean, non-poopy, just-out-of-the-bath version of Claire...
