So Long, Maricopa...

We've finally gotten out! It's taken two and a half years, but we're finally back in Mesa. Hooray! We will miss our great little house, but that is on a short list of things we will actually miss about Maricopa. Mostly we're just excited to never have to drive down the 347 again!

More Swimming

Claire was making such cute faces in the pool the other day that we had no choice but to get the camera. Once the camera came out, Molly wanted in on the action. Molly has also never been interested in sitting in one of those floaties until Claire got in one.

Crazy Curler Hair

Since Molly won't let me get within a ten-foot perimeter of her head with a curling iron, I decided to try these velcro curlers. I talked her into it by repeatedly saying that they wouldn't hurt, and telling her she would have "crazy curler hair" when we were done. It worked for about ten minutes, then she started taking them out herself. No good curls can form in ten minutes, so I guess we'll be sticking to braids and ponies for a while longer. She obviously doesn't understand that sacrifices must be made for beautiful hair.

It's Official-We are a Cloth Diaper Family!

I was totally naive to the whole cloth-diapering thing until about a month ago, then I became completely obsessed! We use the Bum Genius 3.0 and so far so good.

If anyone is curious about cloth diapers, a pretty informative website is: http://www.cottonbabies.com/clothdiapers.php

I think they look so cute on their little bums!

Molly isn't potty-trained at naptime or during the night so she gets to wear them too-she loves them!

Happy Birthday Chris!!

Chris's 28th birthday was on Sunday and I think he had a pretty awesome one. I took him out on Saturday night to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (I just got soup to make it somwhere in the realm of affordable) and then we went to Sunsplash afterwards for their night-time special. We didn't fit in very well at either place (Scottsdale's finest out at Ruth's Chris and the freak shows at Sunsplash) but we had a really great time at both places. Sunday was a pretty low-key day, but Chris did get a birthday cake. Since it was just our family I let Molly decorate it with every sprinkle and frosting we had in the house, and I think she did a great job!

Molly's Great Hairdo

Molly is notorious for taking her hair out in the car, and I've started getting pretty irritated about it, especially when we've actually taken some time to get it looking good before we leave the house. About a week ago Molly was taking her hair out again and I turned around and gave her the stink eye. I didn't really feel like having a fight about it, so I turned back around and a couple of minutes later I looked back and she had re-fixed her hair herself. These pictures don't really give it justice, but she had clipped the bows almost on top of her head, catching plenty of her bangs with it.
