Farewell, Old Friend

It was a very sad day in the Black household last week; we sold the Tacoma. My dad bought it in 1999 and I bought it from him was I was about 18. It's been a beloved member of our family ever since and will be greatly missed!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Chris turned 31 August 3rd. We took a trip up to the cabin to celebrate.

We had a picnic at a beautiful lake. The only real swimming anyone did was when Claire accidentally fell in.

Penny Turns One!

Penny's first birthday was July 16th. We didn't do a real party for her, so she got lots of mini-celebrations.

The first was the morning of her birthday at Cracker Barrel. She got a new sippy cup from the Disney Store, and her lucky sisters did too.

That night was Happy Meals. As usual, Penny liked the box more more than its contents, and the box was probably healthier!

On Sunday we had a birthday dinner at my parent's house. Penny got some new squeaky shoes, which she loves!

She also loved her birthday cake!

We usually do a traditional Krispy Kreme run for the birthday breakfast. Since we decided to do Cracker Barrel instead, they got a bonus Krispy Kreme trip.

Dance Classes

Over the summer Molly and Claire took dance classes through the city - Molly in ballet and Claire in tap. Molly loved every minute of it, but Claire struggled (putting it lightly). Claire is a little clingy right now so the thought of being closed off in a separate room with me out in the hallway was too much for her.

For the last day of each of their classes parents were invited in to watch. That was good news for Claire and she would actually do some dancing since we were in the room with her. Molly was a pretty serious ham and loved the audience!
