Ballet Under the Stars

My mom, Molly and I went to Ballet Under the Stars in the Fountain Park last week. Ballet Arizona performed movements from a few different ballets and it was fabulous! Molly absolutely loved it, and she definitely looked the part in her dancing dress. We've been doing lifts around the house ever since (which is starting to kill my back).

Good Times in the Tub

Claire likes to see how deep she can get her face in the water without breathing it in.

Claire's First Pedicure

The term "pedicure" is being used very loosely...

Bizarre

Molly has been saying a few more random things lately. One conversation was particularly strange. We were down at my grandma's house and Molly wanted a blanket, so the only thing I could find was a quilt my great-grandmother had made. I was explaining to Molly how special the quilt was and how careful she needed to be with it, and somewhere in the mix I told her that Grandma Gietz wasn't alive anymore. Molly got a strange look on her face and said "Why? Did somebody kill her?" It was pretty tricky trying to explain dying of old age, but hopefully I made it clear that she had not been murdered. One other funny thing happened when Chris was joking around with Molly about her being a cookie and that he was going to eat her. She shouted, "You can't eat me! I'm not a cookie because I'm not a circle!"

First Day of School!

Today was Molly's first day of pre-school, and I'm sure it was much harder for me than it was for her. She told me she wants to go again, so that must be a pretty good sign. She has gotten to be a very social girl the past couple of months, so I think she is going to love it.

Molly and Max are going to the same preschool this year, which is going to be awesome. I love a carpool!

Poor Claire was heartbroken when we left for school. But at least she has her own backpack like the big kids.

Outside the preschool before it started, then picking her up and saying goodbye to her teacher, Ms. Nancy. She looked quite a bit more disheveled than when I dropped her off - she must have been having a good time!

New Rain Clothes, New Dresses

The other day at Target they had all their rain gear on clearance, so of course I got two of everything. Shockingly we've already put them to good use; the rain storm last week was perfect timing. I don't know how much more use we'll get out of the stuff besides dressing up around the house, but I say better safe than sorry when it comes to owning rain boots in Arizona.

Claire didn't think the new rain clothes were fun at all, and the boots made her very angry.

I also made some new dresses for the girls while Chris's very talented aunt Sally was in town. I learned how to make a couple different styles of the pillowcase dress and both are really quick and easy.
